    Hello,

I have been asked to pick my favorite poem and read it in class. I would like to read “Poetry Should Ride the Bus.”

However, I’m not able to locate the source data I need. Where was the poem originally published, and is it available in one of your books?

Thank you so much for your wonderful work! I’m a big fan.

    Best wishes,

    Christine Nichols

When I was in high school, about 15 years ago, Ms. Forman came to Flagstaff, AZ for the Northern Arizona Book Festival and stopped to do a reading at my high school, Sinagua High School. She read her poem, “Poetry Should Ride the Bus,” and I still remember the influence that poetry did not have to be “above me.” I chose to become a high school English teacher and every year I start my poetry unit with that poem and tell them how I remember listening to you read it. THANK YOU!

I heard you come read to us students at Occidental College in 2005, and I still remember how awesome it was. Thanks!

Now I am a student teacher, slinging English at eighth-graders. Some of them already love poetry. I am going to pull your books off my shelf to help them love more.
